Now

"Parenting, I’ve come to understand, is about loving my child today. Now. In fact, for any parent, anywhere, that’s all there is."
if there's one thing i've learned   am learning thus far into parenthood it's the importance and beauty of NOW, this moment.   children live in the now all day long.  children only experience the right-here right-now.  “When you’re rushing to the next moment, what happens to the moment you are in?” You’ve missed it! You may be okay with that, but children have no capacity to understand why they can’t enjoy the NOW.

Living in the NOW is where the treasures of life live.
Living in the NOW is where all the answers to our problems are.

The moment we begin to rationalize and feel like we “should” do some thing, we fall out of the NOW. That’s when things get complicated, rushed, filled with stress, pres sure and anger.
The most profound and beautiful thing we experience by living in the NOWis love. The more you can take it one-moment-at-a-time and simply focus on the task at hand, by remaining really-really present, the more you love you’ll be able to take in.
wise words from a friend.

can't get enough of this little guy!

devan LOVES bath time!  his bathtub sits on the counter in front of a mirror and he loves to watch himself taking a bath.  :)

we celebrated Easter at Rainbow Park with friends.
                                                  Happy Easter!!
since devan only really likes/chooses to roll over when he's naked we've been working on sitting up.  he is making progress--with the help of 'mr. shakey'
                                                      he likes it  :)

devan is 4 + months/april comes to maui!

Devan is 19.5 weeks and growing soo much!  april and i took him for a well visit a week ago and he has more than doubled his birth weight.  he's 16.4 lbs!  a TANK!  he measured 25 inches long--he is a chunk of love!
his personality is coming thru more and more each day.  he's a smiler! :)  everywhere we go he smiles at everyone!  he laughs and loves to 'sing' and babble--he also likes to grunt.  when he is not happy about something he grunts, it is kindof comical.
just in the past few days he has started moving his jaws up and down like a 'chewing motion' he does this when he's watching doug and i eat but also does it randomly throughout the day--it's pretty funny!
he's been rolling over more this past week which he is quite pleased about.  he is still drooling a TON! no teeth yet though.
april came to maui to hang out with us for a few-short-days.  it was a lot of fun!  we managed to make it to the beach every day she was here.  we shopped-of course!-went out to eat for sushi, burgers-yes john i have eaten quite a few burgers in the last 9 months or so-and eggs beni.  we took her to 'sunday fun day/beach volleyball' where april proved she has some skills at serving!  she also went w/us to a friends baby shower.  we really loved having her here!  devan loves his auntie!

                                  4/1/11  4 months!
                                 chill'n at the beach
                            sunday morning couch/tummy time--big smiles!
                                          chill/n with Dad
April, Devan & Ronda at the baby shower
                                    april showing her volleyball skills!
april has a lot more photos of her trip so check out her blog for more photos.
